Unit 2

There are a variety of different communication techniques:

Webcam: Webcam are very useful for communication, such as Skype video/voice calls or meetings. They are a video from peer to peer which also allows audio. This makes the communication more personal as if your actually sitting in the same room as the person your talking too.

Email: Emails are great for sending text based information and attachment files. Often used to send files or updates emails are great for wide spread communication. As you can send mass mail to everyone or individually email people.

SMS: Short message service, a lot quicker and more convenient as it is easier to do, considered informal. Which is a text message service from phone, web or mobile communication systems.

IM: Instant messaging which is a text based conversation between people across computers. Instant messaging tends to be very fast paced and would be like an actual conversation, just in text form.

Giving and receiving feedback is vital in whatever line of work your interested in. It is important that people know their strong points and weak points. This allows people to develop their work and improve it. When giving feedback you want to make sure not to be harsh or critique too much - make sure it is in format and constructive.

Communicating within a team or person to person on technical and specialist issues can be done without the fuss of individually explaining it all. For example you could use a memory stick to transfer files from computer to computer - this is convenient when it comes to transfer. Otherwise if you need to update your team on recent information you could use mass mail and email them all directly. This is useful for wide spread communication.
